Knowledge is Empowering
I thought I was well educated. I thought that because I had been involved in Dad's care, I knew alot. I was wrong. So many, many issues arose as Mom's ability to manage her health, money, and personal care declined.
I found myself constantly searching for information and second guessing my decisions in an attempt to provide Mom with the best care and life. Whether it was understanding the disease, figuring out what health experts needed to be recruited, implementing Power of Attorney (POA), managing Mom's money, learning the pros and cons about different care options, or facing fears about my own brain health, I needed information to help me make sense of a world that was complex and confusing. I'm still learning but below is a collection of links that I found helpful.
